Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) for kids at Danbury Academy offers a balanced and age-appropriate approach to blending striking and grappling disciplines. Designed for older children and teens who have a mature approach to training, our MMA program focuses on technique, conditioning, situational awareness, and sportsmanship. Our priority is to teach children how to move intelligently, defend themselves, and approach training with respect and control.
MMA teaches adaptability and problem-solving under pressure because it combines multiple martial arts systems. At Danbury Academy, our MMA curriculum integrates safe, progressive instruction in striking, takedowns, ground control, and submission defense with a strong ethical foundation.

Schedule a Visit or Trial Class
We make it incredibly easy for your child to step onto the mats for the first time. Here is what you need to know.

What to Expect During a Trial
Arrive Early
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early for check-in and brief orientation paperwork.
Attire
Dress in comfortable athletic attire. Uniforms are not required for the first class!
Observation
Parents may observe or return for pickup depending on the class age grouping and policy.
Assessment
The coach will conduct a brief assessment post-class to recommend the best permanent class placement.
